Post Secondary Pass Policy

To purchase Post Secondary monthly and semester passes, the following criteria must be met:

  1. Student is in full-time attendance, defined as 20 hours per week, for a minimum of 3 months
  2. The educational institution is located within the Comox Valley transit service area
  3. The educational institution holds a vendor agreement with the Comox Valley Regional District and is responsible for selling passes to eligible students

Passes

Retain pass throughout your trip and surrender your pass, if requested, to a transit employee.

Save on Fares

Tickets: Get 10 tickets for the cost of 9.

Monthly Pass: When you purchase a monthly pass, you have unlimited travel on the transit system for a month for the same price as 15 return trips (adults).

College Students: College students save 41.00 when purchasing a four-month Semester Pass. College passes available at the bookstore.

Transfers

If you are paying cash or using tickets, and have to travel on more than one bus to complete your trip, you will need a transfer from the driver.

Be sure to request your transfer as you pay your fare. If you have to take more than two buses to complete your trip, you can use the same transfer.

Transfers are free, and they are good for one-way travel, valid for the first connecting bus at transfer points only.

When you board your connecting bus, show your transfer to the driver with the transfer facing up, and the time showing.

Refund Policy

Vendors do not refund BC Transit fare products. Return your unused fare products with the original receipt to Comox Valley Regional District:

In Person: Comox Valley Regional District, 600 Comox Road, Courtenay. During regular office hours, Monday to Friday, 8 to 4:30pm.

Refunds are given for unused products such as a full sheet of tickets, a DayPASS that has not been scratched and monthly passes returned prior to the month indicated on the pass. Refunds are by cheque only.
