Fares

Every time you take transit, you help fund your local transit system. One hundred per cent of the money received from fares goes back into maintaining and improving the system.

Visit the Fares section of your local transit system’s webpage to see what products are available in your area, and where to purchase tickets and passes.

Fare Checks

Please present your correct fare, pass or transfer when asked by transit staff. Failure to present valid proof of payment while on transit may result in a fine of up to $173 (www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/policeservices/shareddocs/provincial-fines-booklet.pdf). Please be courteous when your driver checks your fare, transfer or asks to look at your pass—it is part of their job.

General Fares

Check the Fares section of your local transit’s webpage for current fare prices and for a list of pass and ticket outlets

Cash

Please pay the required fare with correct change – fareboxes and drivers do not provide change.

Tickets

Tickets are sold in sheets of 10 at a discounted rate from the regular cash rate.

Transfers

A transfer is issued only at the time the fare is paid and is for use by that passenger only. Ensure your transfer is still valid.

Passes

Check the Fares section of your local transit’s webpage for current transit pass availability and prices.

Retain pass throughout your trip and surrender your pass, if requested, to a transit employee.
