Potential U-PASS for UFV students

The UFV Student Union is working with the City of Abbotsford, District of Mission, UFV and BC Transit to explore the interest from potential and current transit users on a Universal Bus Pass Program.

A U-PASS is a program approved by students at many Canadian universities where all students are assessed a discounted fee for U-PASS. The transit pass provides unlimited transit access and discounts to other community services such as recreation centres.

Take a few minutes to fill out this survey.

What’s Next?

The survey will tell us know what is important to you and how Transit can improve. A student referendum is planned later this term. Once the referendum passes, the partners will finalize what service improvements will be offered and when the U-PASS will be effective.

History of U-PASS

The U-Pass program was developed as a transportation management program and was first launched at Queen’s University in Ontario in the 1970s. In BC, the program began in Victoria in 1999 at the University of Victoria and Camosun College and is now offered at UBC Vancouver, SFU, Thompson River University, Cranbrook’s College of the Rockies, UBC–Okanagan (Kelowna) and most recently at UNBC. There are more than 100 similar programs at universities and colleges across North America.
