The Vicinity Bus is currently being tested to determine if it could be a valuable addition to the provincial transit fleet, which would contribute to healthier and more liveable communities. To date, the bus has shown substantial long-term cost savings in fuel and maintenance as well as a longer service life compared to other buses in its class.

This project is focused on creating a rapid transit system for the Capital Region. The first stage of the project proposes a link from the West Shore communities to Victoria by LRT.
Since 2010, BC Transit has been testing the world’s largest hydrogen fuel cell fleet operating in a single location in Whistler. This fleet produces no emissions – just water – out the tailpipe.
