ITQ 08-09 Diesel Exhaust Retrofit Devices
Issued: July 3, 2008
Closed: Thursday July 31, 2008 at 2:00:59 PM Pacific Time
In October 2007, BC Transit submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Environment requesting financial assistance for remedial diesel PM emission reductions through the implementation of a diesel engine exhaust after-treatment retrofit program. On January 10th 2008 Ministry of Environment advised that it was able to provide funding support to assist the implementation of this project. The objective of this project is to reduce PM emissions in BC Transit's fleet by retrofitting buses with either Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC) or Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) with program funding support provided by the Ministry of Environment. It is anticipated that 131 DOC and 65 DPF retrofits will be performed under this program, beginning with 46 DPF retrofits in the first phase and concluding with the balance of the DPF retrofits and 131 DOC retrofits in the following phase.
